Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina

October 22, 2022

The Tolerance Poster Show took place for the first time in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina (October 22nd-28th, 2022). Prior to the official opening of the show, Mirko Ilić held a lecture on the importance of designer activism in the Museum of Contemporary Art attended by students, professors and cultural operators from all sectors.

Students from four art academies in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Trebinje and Široki Brijeg) participated in a tolerance poster workshop under Ilic's guidance. They created their Tolerance posters after working intensely over several days and held a student Tolerance Poster Show at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo. Before the show's opening, Ilic gave a lecture on the importance of free expression and art activism through design.

The student Tolerance Poster Show and the activities with the Fine Arts Academies in Sarajevo are being realized to mark 2022 – the European Year of Youth and is supported by the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina & the EU Info Centre in BiH.

Special thanks to Bojan Hadžihalilović, who conceived the idea and organized the student workshop. And we want to extend our gratitude to Edin Atlic, Project Leader at the EU Info Centre in BiH, for logistical support and for organizing all of these events.
