On Friday May 20th, the Tolerance Poster Show took place on the square of the medieval Castle in Pazin, Croatia. The show is hosted by the Ethnographic Museum of Istria as part of the accompanying programme of International Museum Day 2022. The opening event was accompanied by a lecture held by the Tolerance Project author Mirko Ilić.
The show will be on display till June 13th. During that period, on June 6th, a panel discussion entitled “The Power of Tolerance” will take place at the Ethnographic Museum of Istria. The main topic of the panel is the social engagement in museums, participation and collaborative practices, promotion of cultural differences, social justice and tolerance.
Participants in the panel discussion are Duga Mavrinac (anthropologist, curator-research collective IPAK); Kosjenka Laszlo Klemar (museum educator, Technical Museum Nikola Tesla-Zagreb); Jan Franjul (LGBTIQ activist, association PROCES-Pula); Danijela Ustić (head of Volunteer Centre Istria); Mauricio Ferlin (designer); Darko Babić (head of ICOM Croatia; Museology Department at the University of Zagreb); Mario Buletic (curator at the Ethnographic Museum of Istria, panel moderator).
The programme was organized by the Ethnographic Museum of Istria, curated by Mario Buletic and designed by Matko Plovanic. The programme was made possible with the support of Istrian County, the Ministry of Culture, the City of Pazin and the Tourist Board of Central Istria.
